Kuulan juba mitu päeva. Tundub ilus. Hommikuti paistab päike juba õige eredasti ja natsissid õitsevad. Täna tänaval kõndides tundsin eriti tugevat lillelõhna, park oli inimesi täis, muru oli lõbusalt päikeselaiguline; praegu maitseb tee hea.

Tartu in 5min

So the bright light has finally made me miss Tartu again or maybe it's the optimal two-month absence. Yes, there is a pattern. I stalk Tartu. I go and google 'Tartu'. First I click Wikipedia: 'In contrast to Estonia's political and financial capital Tallinn, Tartu is often considered the intellectual and cultural hub, especially since it is home to Estonia's oldest and most renowned university.' Then I go back and look at the pictures, after which I open www.kv.ee and check available flats, the criteria are 1-2 rooms, floor 2-4, Vaksali or Tähtvere area, wooden building. Rarely something good comes up, I think the last one was Navitrolla's flat but it would be simply lame to get a ready-made flat, especially if Navitrolla was the most recent dude to inhabit the scene. As if the best times had passed already, which obviously is not the case. No. I expand the search to 3 rooms max and other types of houses but pictures of refurnished kitschy living spaces and cute nurseries put me off.
Now I'll google Johannes Pääsuke (maybe 'Johannes Pääsuke Tartu') and look at some good old photos.
And it's time to eat some more or go back to the dissertation which is not going all that well. I have no idea how many companies are operating in the Timan-Pechora Province and whether any of them will reply once I email them and ask for environmental and social action reports with finance details. Probably I will need to call them. But it seems more difficult things have been accomplished.

Missed chances

Today I had a dream about lying in the bottom of a dried lake with many Italians, my brother and his friend. The lake was supposed to have a curing effect, you could think (but not talk!) about your problems and it would heal you. I think it was on an island, the coast was very rocky. We got there by the Old Man's boat, some sardine fishing may have happened, and on our journey from the beach to the lake we passed through a posh house, I was left behind and ate some valgeid klaare on a hilltop. I bet that tree was in Estonia, no other country has such lush early-autumn nettles under apple trees. This has nothing to do with sin though. I guess I hoped the lake would be more fun but at least it was very warm and nice so I pleasantly dozed off.

Yesterday.
B: Here are your Oreos!
Y: Jesus is not dead.
B: Excuse me?
Y: Jesus is not dead and he cares about you too and would like to talk to you.
B: Right, let me put these Oreos through for you. That's £1.60 please.

Exactly 24h earlier at home.
B: Hello..

B: No... I don't think I would. But good luck, bye.
